Among these choices are several independent movie theaters that show more than just current big-budget productions. Often for less money than a typical movie theater ticket, these theaters show second runs and much more. The Capitol Theatre is a place that gives its patrons a little bit of both worlds. It shows new hit movies as well as independent films and family-friendly films. The theater opened in 1925 and retains much of its original Jazz Age decor. The Capitol Theatre offers birthday party packages and even has an ice cream parlor — The Capitol Creamery — right around the corner.
