Surge Protectors Recalled After Reports Of Fire, Injury
" BOSTON (CBS) — The Consumer Protection and Safety Commission is recalling certain surge protectors after the company received reports of fire and injury.

The Schneider Electric APC Surge Protectors made before 2003 have been recalled after the firm received 700 reports of the surge protectors overheating and melting and 55 claims of property damage from smoke and fire.

The claims included $916,000 in fire damage to a home and $750,000 in fire damage to a medical facility "
