Four Ups, Four Downs From Patriots’ Big Win Over Ravens
" BOSTON (CBS) — Before they even took the field on Sunday, the Patriots knew that they had clinched the AFC East. If that led to them letting off the gas pedal a bit for their game in Baltimore, it would have been somewhat understandable. Instead, the Patriots came out full throttle, opening up a 14-0 first-quarter lead en route to a 41-7 victory.

The Pats now know they can beat Buffalo next weekend and secure a first-round playoff bye. Here are the four ups and four downs from their win on Sunday.

FOUR UPS

Stevan Ridley and LeGarrette Blount For whatever reason, the Patriots got away from running the ball in the second half when they were playing with the lead. But when they got the ball with just under seven minutes left in the fourth, they placed the game in the hands of Ridley and Blount, and they iced the victory with a series of runs that chewed up yards and took time off the clock.

For Ridley, that’s a huge vote of confidence from the coaching staff, an indication that they believe he’s past his fumbling problems "
