" BOSTON (CBS) -┬áIn terms of modern greatness in sports you can’t have the discussion without starting with Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter and Patriots quarterback Tom Brady.

Jeter, the 13-time All Star, has appeared in seven World Series and has five rings to show for it.

Tom Brady, the 2-time NFL MVP, has appeared in five Super Bowls and has three rings to show for it.

Both players operate under the bright lights of a big city. Both players consistently come through in the clutch.

With Derek Jeter announcing his retirement yesterday at the conclusion of the 2014 season it’s only appropriate to give him a retrospective, and what better way to do it than compare the New York sports legend with a Boston sports legend.

Andy Gresh and Scott Zolak discussed the two future Hall of Famers Thursday morning.
