" BOSTON (CBS) – Ex-Seahawk cornerback Brandon Browner is a free agent, and on Thursday he reportedly came to New England for a visit.

The 6’4″ 220-pounder spent four seasons with the Calgary Stampeders in the CFL before signing with Seattle in 2011.

Browner was suspended for four games in 2012, and again for five games in 2013 for violating the league’s substance abuse policy. The Pro Bowl corner must also sit the first four games of 2014.

With Darrelle Revis, Alfonzo Dennard, Logan Ryan and Kyle Arrington already in place at the position, it’s likely the Patriots would try him at safety should he sign with New England, although Andy Gresh and Scott Zolak are in disagreement about that.

Gresh and Zolak discussed the prospect of Browner becoming a Patriot Thursday morning.

“If Browner’s coming here I don’t think it’s to play corner,” said Gresh. “Browner is Belichick’s dreamboat player.”

“What are you talking about?” asked a confused Scott Zolak.

“Belichick has tried for years and years to find that guy "
