Bill Belichick and Chip Kelly decided to move up today’s practice due to inclement weather heading into the area this afternoon. The Eagles also have a special guest, with long-time Philly coach Dick Vermeil on hand for today’s session.
The two teams started on their own once again on Wednesday before joining forces to get in some Red Zone passing work. Tom Brady and Ryan Mallet alternated throwing to wide outs, and the Eagles defensive backs fared much better this time around than they did yesterday. That seems to be the overall theme in the early go of things today.
12:22 p.m. Update: In the second half of today’s practice session we’re seeing a lot of situational football.
The Patriots offense did not look as sharp as they did on Tuesday, but it came to life when they went to hurry-up, 2-minute situations. Brady hit Dobson (who returned from his calf scare) twice — with the rookie making beautiful catches each time "
