Report: Darrelle Revis’ Top Choice Is New England
" BOSTON (CBS) — The Patriots let Aqib Talib, far and away their best cornerback, leave via free agency late Tuesday night, but their plans at the position may now be taking shape. Namely, they may be the favorites to land Darrelle Revis.

According to CBSSports’ Jason La Canfora, the “Patriots [are] in a strong position to land Revis now, especially after Talib’s deal. Revis wants to be there.”

ESPN’s Adam Schefter also reported that the “Patriots figure to make a real push for Darrelle Revis.”

The Buccaneers have been trying to trade Revis, but the fact that Tampa is willing to cut him has limited the number of offers. According to La Canfora, acquiring Revis would only cost the Patriots a fifth-round pick, with the caveat that Revis’ massive contract that pays him $16 million per year.
