Just one day after losing Aqib Talib to the Denver Broncos in free agency, the Patriots made an even bigger splash, reportedly signing Revis to a one-year, $12 million deal. Revis was set to earn $16 million with the Buccaneers, who waived him Wednesday afternoon, so he took a bit of a pay-cut to join New England — something not many thought he would do.
98.5 The Sports Hub’s Adam Jones didn’t think Revis would sign with the Patriots, but calls the one-year deal a “no brainer” for New England.
“You look at what the Patriots are doing bringing this player in — this is an ‘all-in’ move. This is a pushing your chips to the middle of the table kind of move,” said Jones. “And for any of you concerned about a one-year deal with Revis, I’m not willing to scratch that itch. I’m happy they have him for however long they have him.”
