Mayor Will Flanagan conceded a mayoral recall election Tuesday night to Bristol County District Attorney Sam Sutter.
Sutter’s office is currently prosecuting Aaron Hernandez in the 2013 murder of Odin Lloyd. Jury selection begins next month.
According to the Fall River Herald News, Flanagan will stay in office until Sutter’s election is qualified on December 26.
Sutter will serve the rest of Flanagan’s term until November.
It’s not clear what impact, if any, Sutter’s election will have on the Hernandez trial.
