" BOSTON (CBS) — A former state representative convicted on two assault charges was released from jail Wednesday.

A spokesman for the Middlesex County Sheriff’s office told WBZ-TV Carlos Henriquez was released from the Middlesex jail in Billerica.

Henriquez was sentenced in January to serve six months of a two-and-a-half-year sentence "
