" BOSTON (CBS) – I wrote the other day here about former Gov. Mitt Romney clinching the Republican nomination for president, and how it would be foolish to underestimate him, whatever you might think of his politics.

Lo and behold, on Thursday, Obama campaign guru David Axelrod showed up in front of the Statehouse with a bunch of local pols in an effort to trash Romney’s time here.

They were met by a horde of Romney campaign supporters intent on shouting down their event.

After about an hour of listening to them do so in juvenile fashion, countered by the shrill bleating of their Democratic adversaries, I headed back to the newsroom with a splitting headache.

And something tells me that isn’t going to fully subside until after this presidential race is over.

Because I touched on this the other day, I won’t spend much more time on the childishness of the Democratic critique of Romney’s governorship, which ignores the fact that he was handcuffed by a Democratic establishment disinclined to be led by him "
