" BOSTON (AP) — Gov. Deval Patrick and Boston Mayor-elect Martin Walsh are promising a strong partnership as Walsh prepares to take over at City Hall.
The two met privately in the governor’s office for the first time since Walsh’s victory in the Nov. 5 mayoral election to succeed Thomas Menino, who is retiring after more than two decades as Boston’s mayor.
Patrick noted that he already has a “great friendship” with Walsh, who helped Patrick in his first campaign for governor in 2006 and his re-election effort in 2010 "
