Obama Raises Nearly $3 Million In Boston Visit

" BOSTON (CBS/AP) — President Obama campaigned in New Hampshire and attended events in Boston Monday to raise an estimated $3 million for his re-election campaign.

MASSACHUSETTS

The president’s first event in the Bay State was a small campaign round-table at Hamersley’s Bistro in Boston’s South End with 25 people. Tickets cost $40,000 per person.

Obama later spoke to 1,800 people at Symphony Hall in Boston. General admission started at $250 with top seats going for $2,500.

Obama was introduced at the event by Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Elizabeth Warren.

The president finished his busy day at a fundraiser at a private home in Weston with tickets costing $17,900 per person and $35,800 per couple. The president spoke casually to about 100 guests and took questions after reporters left.

Money from the events will go to a joint fundraising committee of Obama for America, the Democratic National Committee and several state Democratic parties "
