Darnell McDonald Announces He’s Joining Yankees
" BOSTON (CBS) — Over the weekend, the Red Sox needed to make room on the roster for Josh Beckett, so they designated Darnell McDonald for assignment.

While McDonald’s future remained up in the air for a few days, it seemed unlikely that a team would go out of its way to sign him. After all, the 33-year-old was hitting just .214 this season.
