Ellsbury In Boot, But Farrell Confident ‘He’ll Return This Year’
" BOSTON (CBS) – Red Sox center fielder Jacoby Ellsbury has a non-displaced compression fracture in his right foot, but the team hopes to have their leadoff man back by the end of the regular season.

Ellsbury had the foot examined in Boston on Saturday and received a second opinion on it  from Dr. Thomas Clanton in Colorado, who confirmed the original diagnosis. Now Ellsbury will be in boot for five days and the team will re-evaluate him later this week.

“The exam that he went through, the images taken in Denver concur with what’s been found in the exam in Boston and he does have a compression fracture,” manager John Farrell said from New York on Sunday. “That means it’s non-displaced. But at the same time, we feel like he’ll return this year "
