Farrell On Buchholz: No Structural Issues, But In ‘Shutdown Period’
" BOSTON (CBS) – An MRI performed on Clay Buchholz’ injured shoulder revealed no structural damage, but the Red Sox starter will go through a brief shutdown period, manager John Farrell said on Thursday.

The MRI did reveal some inflammation in the bursa sac in Buchholz’ right shoulder, but Farrell hopes the 28-year-old can begin a throwing program over the weekend.

“He’s in a couple of day shutdown period. We’re hoping he initiates a throwing program, likely on the weekend,” Farrell said prior to Boston’s Thursday night matchup with the Toronto Blue Jays at Fenway Park "
