Red Sox Acquire Jake Peavy, Trade Jose Iglesias In 3-Team Swap
" BOSTON (CBS) — The Boston Red Sox got an early jump on deadline day action, acquiring Jake Peavy late Tuesday night.

The Red Sox are sending Jose Iglesias to Detroit as the other main player in the deal.

The Red Sox also acquired Bryan Villareal from the Tigers. The Red Sox traded away minor league pitchers J.B. Wendelken and Francelis Montas and infielder Cleuluis Rondon to the White Sox, while the Tigers sent Avisail Garcia to the White Sox.

Peavy, 32, owns an 8-4 record and 4.28 ERA this season for Chicago, where he is 36-29 with a 4.00 ERA overall since 2009. He did post a 3.37 ERA last year, his best such mark since 2008. His 219 innings pitched last year were also his most since 2007. He was scratched prior to his start Tuesday night, an indication that a long-rumored deal was imminent "
