Red Sox Receive Reliever Pedro Beato From Mets To Complete Shoppach Trade
" BOSTON (CBS) – Red Sox fans can sleep easy now, knowing the team has received compensation for catcher Kelly Shoppach.

The New York Mets sent right-handed pitcher Pedro Beato to Boston on Thursday to complete the Shoppach deal.

Boston has assigned Beato to Triple-A Pawtucket.

Beato has 67 Major League games under his belt over the last two seasons, going 2-1 with a 4.67 ERA in 67 games. He has allowed 46 runs (37 earned) on 64 hits over 71.1 innings pitched while striking out 44 "
