The 2013 World Series rings they handed out on Friday may have raised the bar though.
Each player received a 14-karat white gold ring, created by jewelry designer Jostens, that includes 126 diamonds, 16 custom-cut sapphires and nine custom-cut rubies. The player’s name and number are on the right side of the ring, and each one was customized to highlight the number of World Series titles they’ve won in Boston. A “bearded brothers” image is on the inside of the ring, along with 10-30-13, the date the Red Sox clinched last season’s title at Fenway Park.
