Report: Red Sox Activate Ellsbury, Designate Justin Germano
" BOSTON (CBS) –  Jacoby Ellsbury will be back in the Red Sox lineup Friday night against the Rays, as the team has activated the center fielder from the disabled list.

To make room for Ellsbury, the Sox have designated right-handed pitcher Justin Germano for assignment, according to a Tweet by The Boston Globe’s Nick Cafardo.

Ellsbury returns after missing the last three months with a shoulder injury suffered in Boston’s home opener against the Rays back in April.

In eight rehab games in the past weeks, Ellsbury went 5-for-27 with two doubles and a home run for the Gulf Coast League Red Sox, Double-A Portland Sea Dogs and Triple-A Pawtucket Red Sox "
