Report: Red Sox Offer Napoli 3-Year Deal, He Wants 4-Years
" BOSTON (CBS) – The Boston Red Sox have reportedly offered free agent catcher/first baseman Mike Napoli a three-year deal.

But Napoli is holding out for a fourth year, according to a report.

ESPN’s Jim Bowden, a former general manager, tweeted the Red Sox and Napoli are in contract talks, but the Mariners may be willing to give him the four-year deal he wants.

That could force Boston’s hand to make the decision on just how much they covet Napoli. For now, it’s not clear if Red Sox GM Ben Cherington and the Red Sox are willing to add another year to their offer.
