" Jeff Passan of Yahoo! Sports is reporting the Red Sox placed calls to teams including Texas and Atlanta over the weekend to gauge their interest in the starter.
Passan is also reporting, according to a source, Boston would be willing to eat some of the $37.3 million left of Beckett’s contract over the next two-plus seasons.
Fox Sports’ Ken Rosenthal Tweeted Monday morning a source told him Boston talked to a “handful of teams” regarding Beckett, but a deal is “unlikely” at this time "
