Stephen Drew has been traded to the Yankees.
The Red Sox will receive Kelly Johnson in return.
CSNNE’s Sean McAdam reported that the Yankees will take on “almost all” of the money remaining on Drew’s contract.
Drew, 31, has only played shortstop in his big-league career, a position quite famously occupied at the moment by Derek Jeter. Drew is hitting .176 in 39 games this season.
